About this item

The Intorq BFK458 Brake Rotor is a component of the BFK458 spring-applied, electrically released brake system, designed for dry-running industrial braking and holding applications. It transmits braking torque from the stator assembly to the shaft via an axially toothed hub as part of the complete brake module.​

Product overview

  • The rotor is a rotary brake disc fitted with friction linings on both sides, operating between the armature plate and counter-friction surface of the BFK458 brake.​
  • In the de-energised (fail-safe) state of the brake, the rotor is clamped by compression springs to provide the specified braking torque.​

Design and construction

  • The rotor is manufactured as an aluminium body with a toothed intermediate ring, providing low-wear friction lining and low-wear gear teeth in the long-life versions.​
  • It is designed for low-backlash torque transmission in combination with the corresponding hub, supporting accurate positioning in drive systems.​
