The INTORQ BFK455 Silent Double Industrial Brake is a dual spring-applied brake system designed to provide reliable and redundant braking performance for safety-critical applications. Featuring four friction surfaces and two electrically and mechanically separated brake circuits, the BFK455 allows each brake circuit to be independently controlled and monitored for enhanced operational safety.

Designed with redundancy in mind, the BFK455 is engineered so that one brake can provide the required braking torque, while the second brake acts as a backup system to meet the safety requirements of elevator applications. Individual microswitches monitor the switching status of each spring-applied brake, ensuring dependable operation and increased system reliability.

With effective noise reduction technology, the BFK455 provides smooth and quiet braking performance, making it particularly suited to elevator and platform applications. The integrated switching gear rectifies the supply voltage and reduces the voltage after release, lowering the average electrical power consumption and improving energy efficiency during operation.
