Mechanical Flexible Couplings
Mechanical flexing couplings rely on the flexibility of the mechanical components, such as gears, chains, and grid, to provide misalignment compensation. These types of couplings are generally more robust than elastomeric and suitable for high torque applications.

Mechanical flexible couplings derive their flexibility from loosely-fitting parts that allow for rolling, sliding, or a combination of both, often with some degree of material flexure. This flexible design enables them to accommodate misalignment between shafts, reducing the forces or loads caused by the reaction to misalignment. As a result of their mechanical construction, these flexible couplings offer nearly limitless capabilities for horsepower and torque transmission.
