Founded in 1937 by Edouard Stieber in Munich, with the development of the roller-ramp freewheel technology. Stieber’s foundation was creating a broad standard range of drive elements for mechanical engineering systems. Throughout the following years, Stieber went on to establish a comprehensive international sales and distribution network with the delivery of the first backstops for primary cooling pumps used in nuclear power plants in 1962.
With over 80 years of experience with innovative engineering and advanced technologies, Stieber has become a global leader in the research, development and production of high-precision freewheels and backstops. Stieber also offers a wide range of products including various clutches used for multiple-machine drives. Stieber is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, ensuring that quality products are always synonymous with the Stieber name.
